Wrestling Classic
-The World Wrestling Federation’s first ever pay-per-view event took place on         
Thursday, November 7, 1985 at the Rosemont Horizon in Rosemont, IL.
Headlined by Hulk Hogan and a corresponding “Wrestling Classic” tournament
between a host of top performers, the WWF hoped to capitalize on an open market.  
The organization did.
       -Roddy Piper vs. Hulk Hogan, WWF World Heavyweight Champion.  Hogan won
               by DQ when Orton interfered.  Hogan retained his title.
               -Piper was accompanied by Bob Orton Jr.
-Wrestling Classic Tournament – 16 participants.
ROUND ONE:
       -Corporal Kirschner vs. Adrian Adonis.  Adonis won by pinfall after a DDT.
       -Dynamite Kid vs. Nikolai Volkoff.  Kid won by pinfall in 6 seconds.
       -Randy Savage vs. Ivan Putski.  Savage pinned Putski with leverage from the
               ring ropes.
       -Davey Boy Smith vs. Rick Steamboat.  Steamboat won by referee’s decision.  
               Smith could not continue.
       -Junkyard Dog vs. The Iron Sheik.  Dog won.
       -Terry Funk vs. Moondog Spot.  Spot won by countout in 17 seconds.
       -Don Muraco vs. Tito Santana.  Santana won by pinfall.
       -Bob Orton Jr. vs. Paul Orndorff.  Orndorff won by DQ when Orton used his
               arm cast to hit his opponent.
ROUND TWO:
       -Dynamite Kid vs. Adrian Adonis.  Kid won by pinfall.
       -Randy Savage vs. Rick Steamboat.  Savage pinned Steamboat with help from
               brass knuckles.
       -Moondog Spot vs. Junkyard Dog.  Dog won in 45 seconds.
       -Tito Santana vs. Paul Orndorff.  Double Countout.
SEMI-FINAL:
       -Dynamite Kid vs. Randy Savage.  Savage won by pin.
       -Junkyard Dog advances with a bye.
FINAL:
       -Junkyard Dog vs. Randy Savage.  Dog won by countout to capture the
               tournament victory.
Crowd Estimate:  14,000.
