Pepi Pasquale's real name was Pasquale Tripepi and he wrestled from 1945 to 1965, according to a major article on him in the Riverside (CA) Press-Enterprise on October 20, 1998 (page B1) and written by Joe Vargo. He was from Wildomar, California and, in his 70s, still trained vigorously to maintain his 237-pound frame. He also wrestled under a red mask as the "Masked Marvel," used a white mask as the "Ghost," and also competed under the name Pepe Cortez. Tripepi grew up in Dearborn, Michigan, and began wrestling on the Detroit circuit, including towns like Akron, Gary, Hamilton, Cleveland, and Sarnia. He admitted that he was always on the road, like a gypsy of sorts, and that he dined with Mae West. Tripepi also had a small part in "The Ten Commandments" movie. He stated that he had five managers, who "all owned a piece of me." The article stated that he held "five championship belts. Pepi Pasquale was not related to Frank Pasquale, the Southern California promoter who had problems with the National Wrestling Alliance and the Los Angeles "monopoly" in the early 1950s.
