Although Roy Welch was commonly acknowledged as the NWA member representing the
Nashville office, he was partners with promoter Nick Gulas.

Delving back into the history of Gulas himself, the Anniston Star (Anniston, AL) on May 17, 1937
reported that Gulas was turning professional wrestler.  He'd long been a member of promoter
Chris Jordan's staff and represented the latter in Anniston.  Gulas reportedly had been working
out with the wrestlers at a gym in Birmingham, and was ready to "make a go for it."

In 1954, Nick Gulas believed that Dick Demonbreun of Nashville was a top prospect.
Demonbreun made his pro debut by beating Lou Galento.
