*Sam Muchnick notified the membership in November 1956 that Rod Fenton and Cal
Eaton had not paid their membership dues and failed to respond to correspondence,
thus, they were "dropped from the rolls of the National Wrestling Alliance."

During the convention, as a measure of respect toward Ed "Strangler" Lewis, the
membership agreed to continuing paying him $7,500 a year even though he was no
longer accompanying the heavyweight champion.  However, after Lou Thesz regained
the NWA title from "Whipper" Billy Watson on November 9, 1956, Thesz asked Muchnick
whether or not Lewis could again travel with him.  Thesz also wanted Muchnick to resume
booking his schedule as the defending champion.  Muchnick agreed to the latter, and
thought the idea of Lewis helping Thesz in some territories was a good one.  The NWA
membership would have to pay Lewis's expenses as well as he entered their territory and
helped with publicity.

Muchnick began booking Thesz immediately after the latter's letter (sent to Muchnick)
dated November 13, 1956, and reminded the new champion to send in his appearance
bond to be deposited into the NWA account.
