In 1954, McDonald and his family lived in Van Nuys, California. He was married to Audrey and had a daughter named Shirley, who was 12. His wife sewed his ring jackets and tights. When he wasn't grappling, McDonald liked to fish, according to the September 4, 1954 edition of Wrestling As You Like It. He reportedly won a handful of fishing contests, and also placed a dog in the San Francisco dog show "last season." McDonald was also a hunter. Research by Tim Hornbaker |
