The December 28, 1912 edition of the Minneapolis Morning Tribune stated that Henry
Irslinger had returned to the United States and was looking to meet the best
middleweights on the mat.  He was the "holder of five belts, including the world's
championship, and the Lord Lonsdale diamond belt." He reportedly went undefeated
during a tour of the U.S., Canada, and Mexico three years earlier, and was in search of
big matches in Chicago against Willoughby or Ernest Kartje.
