Harold Keene was born on August 4, 1921 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Bert and Katherine Levin Keene. He was known to wrestling fans as "Hal" and appeared throughout the United States. Keene served proudly in the United States Army during World War II. In 1951, he married Shirley in a Southern California ring and had a special wedding celebration at the home of Terry McGinnis in Westwood, California. Keene passed away on January 21, 1961 in St. Louis. He was 39 years of age. At the time, he was living at 5915 Washington with his wife JoAnn Keene.
