Notes:  Robert won his championship from Bill Longson on October 7 in Montreal.  Burke
was making her “641st defense” of her title, according to the Dallas Morning News.  
Robert began wrestling at 17 years of age, having been born in Three Rivers, Quebec.  
He worked at a lumber camp since 15, and developed his strength.  He turned pro at 18
years of age, and after a short time, he went to Europe, where he beat Henri DeGlane in
France.  In 1937, Robert beat Ed Don George for the Canadian championship.  A few
days later, on Friday, Bobby Managoff beat Robert in Houston to capture the World Title.

Notes:  This marked Managoff’s first title defense after winning the championship from
Yvon Robert.  The Dallas Morning News stated that Bobby Managoff Sr. should be
credited, in part for helping his son capture the championship.  Bobby Sr. was in
attendance in Houston when the title changed hands.  Managoff was said to be 24 years
old.  The Green Shadow was unmasked by Kennedy to reveal Miguel Torres of Mexico
City.

Notes:  The Dallas Morning News said the main event was going to be a “tag bout,” which
was “one of the most unusual wrestling matches in the history of the sport.” The paper
stated that the wrestler can tag his partner “any time he wishes, and the man tagged then
can go into action.” Also, “a fall is scored when both members of one team are pinned,”
and that “the match actually may go for five or six falls” within the two-hour time-limit.  
Clifford was from Louisville and Beaver from Cherokee, North Carolina.  This was the first
tag team match at the Sportatorium.
