Benjamin Franklin Sherman Jr. was born on July 4, 1908 in Fairbanks, Alaska, the son of
Benjamin Franklin and Jose Large Sherman.  In July 1940, when Sherman filled out his
Social Security Application, he listed his address as 8001 Highland Trail in Hollywood,
and reported that he was unemployed.  His wife's name was Maithal Landes Davidson.
