Atlanta, Georgia:  April 7, 1927
(City Auditorium) ... World Heavyweight champion Joe Stecher and Jim Londos drew (1-1)
(two-hours) ... Wladek Zbyszko b. Jim Browning (31:59) ... Dick Daviscourt b. Jack McCarthy
(23:38) ... (matchmaker:  John Contos) ... ("packed house")
Notes:  Joe Stecher's diamond studded belt was reported in the Atlanta Constitution as being
worth $20,000.  Jack McCarthy was a former sparring partner of Wayne Munn and actually
had a hand in training Munn.  Londos was said to be from Argos, Greece.  Londos, prior to
the show, planned to run from Five Points to the Candler Building with two men on his
shoulders in a display of his strength.  Londos then refused to do it because of a possible
injury to himself or the individuals he was carrying.  Londos attempted to do the stunt and a
6'4" 215 man named Howard Sargent and a 225-pound man named England got on his
shoulders, but Londos gave up trying to get it worked out.  Sargent was a boxer and England
was a city fireman.  Only a "few" people turned out in the park to see the spectacle.
