Johnny Apt promoted pro wrestling in Salina and Great Bend, Kansas during the 1940s and
'50s.  He was born John "Johnny" Apt on April 9, 1908 in Kunkle, Ohio and later settled in Salina.

In addition to the promotions of boxing and wrestling, he brought musicals, Broadway dramas,
and orchestras to Central Kansas.  He was also a court reporter for more than 30 years.

On a personal note, I attempted to contact Mr. Apt around 1998 by sending him a letter.  A short
time later, I missed a call from him, and due to our varying schedules, we were never able to
speak.  Johnny Apt passed away on July 26, 2001 in Salina.  He was 93.

A special thanks to Kim Apt Beckham for her e-mail and clarification on some of this information.
